British Ceramic Tile has supported the UK’s biggest skills and careers event, The Skills Show.
As one of the leading tile manufacturers and suppliers in the UK, it was only natural that British Ceramic Tile step in to help the tiling competition at The Skills Show, held at the NEC Birmingham in November.
The company donated over 100 square metres of ceramic tiles in a mixture of colours from their Colour Compendium Collection to The Skills Show, an annual celebration organised by the National Apprenticeship Service which organises over 50 skills competitions to inspire the employees of tomorrow.
Tony Taylor, Chief Executive of British Ceramic Tile, said: “The Skills Show is all about inspiring and motivating the UK’s next generation of tradesmen, and is an excellent initiative for British Ceramic Tile to support especially in these tough times when the younger generation offer so much potential, but face a difficult job climate.”
The tiling competition is part of a wider Skillbuild Challenge contest which sees representatives from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales compete in a variety of building trades, also including bricklaying, carpentry, painting and decorating and drywall lining.
Seven contestants took part in the tiling competition with Geoffrey Lunn from Barnsley College winning.
