Catnic, the leading steel lintel manufacturer, has recently provided over £42,000 worth of lintels for an exclusive private development consisting of 14 plots in Redcatch Lane, Bristol.
Kellaway Building Supplies, a family owned independent builders merchant, supplied Catnic’s lintels to the latest project undertaken by Cotswold Homes.
Committed to providing its customers with valuable expertise and technical support, Kellaway won the contract for Catnic based on the competitive pricing and the invaluable support from the local Catnic representative. Catnic’s approach to supporting its merchants and their customers means that a nationwide network of experts is always on hand to offer friendly advice and technical knowledge.
After Kellaway had secured the contract with Cotswold Homes, the drawings were sent to Catnic’s technical team, who ran an itemised schedule for the project. Catnic’s lintels, which were delivered on time using the free Catnic Lintel Advanced Scheduling System (CLASS), were dispatched at various stages of the construction process due to the tight schedule.
The 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes, which featured segmental bays throughout the development, required additional bespoke lintels made to order. The Catnic team designed the extra lintels according to the accurate measurements and requirements of the structure given to them by Kellaway.
Martin Smith, Assistant Branch Manager at Kellaway, commented: “With a 97% On Time in Full delivery record, Catnic’s reliable service was paramount in ensuring the building project could be completed efficiently and on time. Along with Catnic’s free Lintel Advanced Scheduling System (CLASS), which offered a sound and reliable service, the technical team ran a complex itemised schedule, which provided us with much welcomed support.”
Stephen Forrester, Quantity Surveyor at Cotswold Homes Ltd, commented: “Catnic, which was awarded the contract after Kellaway provided a competitive quote, was extremely accommodating with our specific lintel requirements. Catnic supplied us with an efficient itemised schedule, which avoided any disruption, whilst offering us complete technical support throughout the project.”
With thermal efficiency and corrosion protective properties, Catnic’s lintels, offer a variety of benefits for specifiers and builders and are respected throughout the building industry. The lintels are designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with BS EN 845-2:2003 and are certified by the British Board of Agrément.
