Forget the Olympic size pools and flotation tanks; this year’s award for the best kept secret spa goes to a tranquil hotel nestled in the stunning gardens of the Cotswolds.
The Cotswold House Hotel and Spa set in the heart of Chipping Campden, is celebrating its new nationwide title as Best Spa in the UK’s hotel booking specialist LateRooms.com 2012 Best Kept Secret Awards.
This fine townhouse has overlooked the Square for more than 200 years and has fast become one of the most prestigious hotels in the Cotswolds. Hidden away at the top of the exquisite two acre landscape gardens, its spa offers an oasis of peace and tranquillity surrounded by nature, without the usual gimmicks. Instead of the mud-baths, waterfalls, swimming pools, yoga classes and aqua aerobics, guests can expect quality treatments and outstanding therapists delivering exceptional customer care.
Paul Dixon, General Manager of the Cotswold House Hotel & Spa, said: “Our spa is not just a part of the hotel; it is at the heart of it. All of our team have experienced the spa first-hand so that they have an understanding of our guest needs and this helps us anticipate and exceed expectations.”
From a late night candle lit spa and with an unrivalled selection of treatments and therapies, this discreet retreat promises to offer a truly bespoke experience. A warm hydrotherapy pool, a hammam room and six other treatments rooms are also available for the perfect opportunity to unwind.
The spa isn’t the only feature worthy of an award. Part of the Cotswold House experience is the fine cuisine delivered by award-winning Chef, Dave Watts, who was last month named Chef to Watch 2013 in The Good Food Guide 2013.
In the hotel’s two on-site restaurants, guests and non-residents can enjoy beautifully executed dishes created using the freshest ingredients. Morning coffee, teas and light lunches are served on the terrace in summer, surrounded by colourful borders, and traditional afternoon tea is a must by the roaring log fire in the winter months.
The hotel’s 28 bedrooms include garden cottages and suites, some with private gardens and hot tubs, limestone baths and mood lighting, and all designed to be sumptuously comfortable and indulgent. Deluxe King Rooms and Standard rooms include flat screen TVs, excellent bathroom facilities, and all the touches to make a stay memorable.
