Crown Trade’s Protective Coatings Cladding System provided the right paint for the job to transform tired cladding surfaces at The John Smith’s Stadium, home to Huddersfield Giants Rugby League Club & Huddersfield Town Football Club.
The system, comprising of Crown Trade Fast Drying Cladding Finish and Crown Trade High Build Rust Inhibiting Metal Primer, has been used to breathe new life into the surfaces at the Stadium’s away stand.
A total of 100 litres of Crown Trade Fast Dry Cladding Finish and 35 litres of Crown Trade Rust Inhibiting Metal Primer were used on the project, which was completed within a week by HD Signs of Lancashire.
Crown Trade Fast Drying Cladding Finish has been specifically developed to adhere to pre-coated and weathered metal cladding and other external features that have become dull and discoloured over time.
The water-based formulation also offers a quick drying time, and incorporates anti-mould properties to maintain an attractive aesthetic finish for the longer term.
Crown Trade Fast Drying Cladding Finish is available in a wide range of colours, and the Stadium were able to select a bespoke green shade in line with Heineken’s John Smith’s branding guidelines.
Where the existing coating had failed, Crown Trade Fast Drying Cladding Finish was applied in conjunction with Crown Trade Protective Coatings High Build Rust Inhibiting Metal Primer to protect the bare, exposed metal from corrosion.
The John Smith’s Stadium Operations Manager, Phil Armitage, said: “The products are brilliant and we are delighted with the colour match.”
