Ecobuild, the world’s largest event for sustainable design, construction and the built environment, starts today.
It will showcase hundreds of exhibitors, a prestigious conference and seminar programme with over 1,100 industry speakers, as well as a number of celebrity speakers. In addition, the exhibition provides dozens of innovative solutions and practical advice through it’s interactive attractions and features on the show floor.
A run down of some of the companies exhibiting at Ecobuild can be found on our website - http://specificationonline.co.uk/news/ecobuild-2013/1 - while TSP Media will be exhibiting at stand S1621 throughout the show.
One of the main themes of Ecobuild every year is education. The likes of the Green Construction Board seek to offer guidance about the business case for green construction.
This year it is hosting the Big Tent, the venue for presentations, debates and panel discussions with some of the board's leading members. Tuesday will see the launch of the Low Carbon Routemap by Paul Morrell in the main auditorium - visitors can explore the Routemap at the board's stand throughout Ecobuild. Then on Wednesday and Thursday come to the Big Tent to see a presentation from the team that developed the Routemap.
Other highlights include a discussion of how we as an industry can attract the best and brightest young talent with recent 'NCE Graduate of the Year', Claire Gott, and a session on how we can close the performance gap in buildings with UK Green Building Council's Paul King.
Green Construction Board Co-chairs Business Minister Michael Fallon and Mike Putnam, CEO of Skanska UK, will also hold their very own discussion with attendees in the Ecobuild Arena. They'll be speaking on the topic of 'Green for Growth - Reality Check', exploring where we should be investing in green infrastructure to get the maximum benefit for UK plc.
