Elliott Off-Site Building Solutions has completed and handed over the new West of England MS Centre in Bradley Stoke at an official opening on 22nd February.
The brand new, purpose built facility was opened by West of England MS Therapy Centre chairman Peter Miller, who described moving into the new building as: ‘a dream come true’.
Although 10-years went into planning and raising funds to deliver the project, the off-site solution utlilised by Elliott meant that the actual construction aspects took just a few months to complete.
The facility, which was wholly funded by charity donations, was constructed utilising Elliott Off-Site’s timber frame and wall panel system above a ground floor concrete slab. Externally the building incorporates architectural masonry and stone render with a new car park and secure gated access.
Acting as Principal Contractor, Elliott Off-Site designed the building around the needs of its 450 users. Services that will now be offered to members to help alleviate their symptoms and make their visit more comfortable, include a hyperbaric chamber, gymnasium, treatment and examination rooms, along with changing, toilet, storage and office provision.
“We have been delighted with the service provided by Elliott Off-Site and everyone who attended the official opening has been very impressed with the new building,” said Peter Miller, Chairman of the West of England MS Therapy Centre. “We have already welcomed our first members through the door and the feedback we have received has been extremely positive.”
Elliott Off-Site designed the building with an internal space that can easily be adapted to future requirements, including the additional of a second hyperbaric chamber and an ability to increase the number of members from 450 to 600.
The design allows sufficient space for doctors, nurses and advisors to talk to patients, which simply wasn’t practical at the previous premises at Nailsea Industrial Estate.
Additional room for people waiting to use the therapies, exercise classes and café all add to the user-friendliness of the new facility.
The single-storey building will provide easier access for people with MS in the Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and Bath & NE Somerset areas.
“We were delighted to attend the official opening ceremony and are confident that the facility will provide a valuable service to people attending therapy sessions,” said David Jupp, Business Development Manager at Elliott Off-Site Building Solutions. “Our construction system delivers all the speed, value for money and quality benefits of off-site, whilst providing complete design flexibility, which means the completed building exactly meets the needs of service users.”
Elliott Off-Site Building Solutions is able to act as concept designer and Principal Contractor to ensure full compliance with Health Technical Memoranda (HTM) and Health Building Notes (HBN) standards.
The company has over 45 years of delivering innovative off-site design and build solutions and is able to help clients achieve the highest environmental ratings and carbon neutrality.
