One of the UKs leading suppliers of EWI and decorative renders for refurbishment and new builds, SPSenvirowall, has committed to a long term partnership with The Woodland Trust.
This week SPSenvirowall provided funding for 500 trees at a new 120 acre Diamond Wood at Great Chell and Three Crowns Wood owned by Stoke-on-Trent City Council as part of the charity’s Jubilee Woods project.
SPSenvirowall is continually investing in the future of its products to provide more thermally efficient solutions and chose The Woodland Trust as its charity for 2012 because of the environmental synergy.
The Woodland Trust has committed to planting six million trees across the UK to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen's historic 2012 Diamond Jubilee. The project sees businesses; schools and local communities join forces to plant trees and leave a legacy. With Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal as Patron, the Jubilee Woods project aims to create hundreds of Jubilee Woods and 60 special Diamond Woods, transforming our landscape in a generation and providing a lasting and meaningful tribute for many years to come.
Mitch Gee, managing director of SPSenvirowall said: “With a network of local depots, we have chosen to work with The Woodland Trust to ensure that we can support projects in and around the areas that we have a presence. The Jubilee Woods project is a fantastic way of creating a legacy that really celebrates the Diamond Jubilee year.”
Councillor Andy Platt, Stoke-on-Trent City Council cabinet member for city services and green enterprise, said: “We are delighted that through the Jubilee Woods project we have been able to provide the residents of Stoke-on-Trent with brand new woodlands within the boundaries of the city.”
Stephanie Henderson of Woodland Trust said: “The UK is one of the least wooded countries in Europe with only 13% woodland cover compared to a European average of 44%. Jubilee Woods is an extremely ambitious project, but with the support of companies such as SPSenvirowall we hope to be able to achieve our goals.”
Jubilee Woods will leave a growing legacy for future generations to enjoy. They will provide new homes for local wildlife, transform our neighbourhoods and create fun places for families to explore.
