GE Lighting delivers exterior illumination solution with Lunalys

Suitable for use in residential and industrial areas – as well as main roads to provide effective roadway lighting, GE Lighting has introduced its new, highly efficient Lunalys luminaire, which combines tool-free maintenance with incredibly low running costs.

Developed to provide a high quality lighting solution that is compatible with GE’s Streetwise lamps, the Lunalys luminaire delivers a bright, white, ‘natural’ light that is particularly suited for use in open outdoor spaces.

Featuring an E40/E27 ceramic lamp holder, which allows for multi-positional support, meaning the lamp can be adjusted in a longitudinal direction for optimal light distribution; GE Lighting’s Lunalys can be mounted on a vertical or horizontal column with the use of its Ø60mm mounting spigot.

Owing to its highly efficient photometric reflector and its IP66 optical assembly - Lunalys is also very easy to maintain, due to the way in which it is put together. Offering tool-free maintenance benefits, it can be easily checked once in place – by simply opening the latch placed into the upper housing, it is possible to directly access the optical assembly.

A handy ‘twist and lock’ mechanism helps release the lamp holder from the neck reflector whilst the lamp holder support can be removed easily from the front of the luminaire. Combined with an automatic electrical disconnection function, maintenance is much quicker and safer – a point of particular note when working with street lighting along main roads.

The gear tray, which is manufactured from galvanised steel, is located in Lunalys’ lower housing – making it easy to remove if required. For added safety, it is also isolated using a protection degree IP44 and will disconnect immediately if the fixture is opened. The gear tray also houses the ballast, ignitor and capacitor and supports HPS (High Pressure Sodium) ballast from 100w to 250W and MH (Metal Halide) from 150W to 250W.

Mike Barrett, General Manager, Product Management, GE Lighting EMEA said: “The new Lunalys luminaire is incredibly effective when used as part of a lighting solution along main roads and within residential and industrial areas. Incredibly efficient, it ensures that on-going maintenance is reduced and made as easy as possible.”
