Gas Safe Europe Ltd has achieved CORGI certification for its CO detector test kit Detectagas; the only CORGI certified product of its kind in the UK.
Certification came after rigorous testing of the kit, the subject of an independent report from the UKAS approved laboratory GASTEC. GASTEC assessed it for effectiveness and reliability in testing domestic CO alarms to BS EN50291 and UL2034. This together with ISO 9001 accreditation gained the CORGI certification.
Stringent independent testing, to meet the CORGI brief, showed Detectagas to be a consistently reliable means of effectively testing CO alarm sensors.
Detectagas inventor and Gas Safe Europe Ltd MD John Stones said: “CORGI’s product certification is there to show that the product can be trusted to do its job and has passed an independent and rigorous assessment process. We were confident our product would excel in every element of the testing programme and were delighted with the results”.
The Detectagas kit, which comprises a gas canister and CO delivery shroud, was tested using three of the most popular UK alarm brands. Tests showed that each Detectagas canister contains enough gas to enable seven tests and that in every test the alarm was activated within the time limit required by BSEN 50291 (European Standard) and UL2034 (US Standard).
CORGI Membership MD Matthew Sharp congratulated Mr. Stones on achieving certification for Detectagas and commended his work to further enhance the reliability of CO alarms.
The CORGI product certification follows a string of industry awards for Detectagas, for safety, innovation and quality.
