Fire resistant safety glass manufacturer CGI International has strengthened its European operations with four senior appointments.
Barry Greenall joins CGI as export development manager. Barry will work closely with CGI’s sales director, Steve Goodburn to expand CGI’s reach into mainland Europe and the Middle East. Formerly of Pilkingtons Glass, Barry has more than 19 years working within the glass industry, predominantly in export and international sales in the Iberian, Mediterranean, Middle East and African markets.
Mohammad Ali and Angela Avendano join the research and development team, working on KTP projects with CGI’s polymer chemist, Dr Vince Crook. Mohammad will be responsible for new product development while Angela will concentrate on driving efficiency and quality in the production process.
CGI has also appointed a commercial manager, Jean Francois Lassiez, to develop the French market.
David Jolliffe, managing director at CGI International said: “We send 60 per cent of our fire safety glass overseas and have a long history of exporting. These additions strengthen our global network and give us the expertise and insights that will be critical to growing our business in the long term.”
CGI supplies supply one of the widest ranges of fire glasses in the world including: integrity only (E), integrity and insulating glass (EI) and integrity and radiation control glass (EW).
CGI International has more than doubled sales in the past decade and around 60 per cent of the company’s glass is exported to countries including Holland, France, Spain, Sweden, Australia, China, Dubai, the USA and Turkey.
