The brochure celebrates Mapei’s past involvement in the Olympics and offers a comprehensive selection of products and systems for laying indoor and outdoor sports and playing surfaces, synthetic turf pitches, tennis courts and swimming pools.
Products include Mapei’s special polyurethane adhesives Adesilex G19 and Adesilex G20 – ideal when installing running tracks. These adhesives bond perfectly to both the bitumen substrate and synthetic rubber covering. At the same time they offer excellent resistance to tangential stresses transmitted to the underlying substrate during races and so help athletes to reach optimum performance levels. Installed in a number of athletics tracks and in various Olympic Games, Adesilex G19 was utilised in Beijing’s 2008 National Stadium.
The brochure also highlights Mapei’s products and systems for sports floors in gymnasiums schools, fitness centres and sports facilities. The adhesives Ultrabond Eco VS90, Adesilex G19 and Adesilex G20 are perfectly suited for this type of application with Mapei also offering waterproofing and isolating sheet; Mapelay, a PVC sheet reinforced with glass fibres. This is designed to create a surface for laying sports floors in gyms and school buildings directly to ground.

Mapecoat TNS is a coloured acrylic resin coating material in water dispersion with selected fillers, suitable on surfaces which have already been painted and on new surfaces which have yet to be painted. Mapecoat TNS coats the surface with a relatively soft, comfortable layer which, at the same time, is flexible and offers excellent performance. It offers an excellent balance between friction and sliding – ensuring balls bounce perfectly to guarantee quick, spectacular matches, whilst simultaneously allowing competitors to change their running direction in a sure and accurate manner.
