Specifically developed by Forest Drainage Products Ltd to meet SUDS requirements and to provide a sustainable high-performance alternative to traditional drainage methods, Polybed units are used in a wide range of applications including domestic and stormwater soakaways, retaining walls and foundations, septic tanks and golf course and sports pitch drainage.
Manufactured using 100% recycled materials, the Polybed system comprises a 100mm layer of lightweight non-biodegradable aggregate surrounding a 100mm or 150mm diameter corrugated perforated single or twin wall plastic pipe, and is provided, encased in polyethylene netting, in 3-metre sections. Lightweight and flexible, these sections are simply joined together with a rapid click fit connection.
The system delivers a consistent void ratio in excess of 40%. A complementary product, Polyagg, with a ratio of 30% under compression, can provide additional lightweight fill, increasing the void and achieving further water retention.
The Polybed system can be installed up to four times quicker than traditional drainage solutions and requires less labour and plant, minimising the need for stone and gravel and saving on transportation - 1 x 3m length of Polybed equates to a quarter tonne of gravel – hence also reducing your carbon footprint.
