Jaguar Land Rover chose the best solution by far when it specified Elliott’s innovative new Progress modular building system.
144 Progress modules were used to create high quality accommodation for 600 personnel at the Jaguar Land Rover design and engineering facility at Gaydon in Warwickshire.
The company had a requirement for addition accommodation following its continued success, which could not be met in time by a traditional, permanent build.
Jaguar Land Rover chose Progress from Elliott Modular Building because it was best able to meet its extremely tight cost and time schedule. The management team also felt that the high quality specification and modern aesthetics of the Progress modules were in keeping with its prestigious brand image.
A project management team from sister company Elliott Off-Site Building Solutions coordinated installation of the modules at Jaguar Land Rover, using their extensive knowledge of large scale design and build projects.
The Progress modules were supplied as a three-storey design that provided a total floor area of 5,447m2. The high specification accommodation was completed on very short schedule, which was at least 12 months quicker than a traditional, permanent build.
Progress is able to save clients around 70 per cent of the cost of a permanent structure, whilst creating a modern, energy efficient office space that is fully compliant with Building Regulations.
So impressed has the management team at Jaguar Land Rover been with the Progress system that they have contracted Elliott Modular Building to add another floor - to cope with further expansion at the company.
The innovative modular system offers full glazing options, a modern, light architectural feel and state of the art fixtures and fittings. It is available in a range of module sizes for maximum design flexibility and can be built to single, double or triple storeys.
Progress is unlike most modular building systems in that it enables the creation of wide open spaces, which are accentuated by the full floor to ceiling glazing panels. This helped Jaguar Land Rover create a spacious modern working environment with open plan elements running virtually the entire length and width of the modular accommodation.
An internal staircase, kitchen, meeting rooms and canteen demonstrate the versatility of the Progress system, which makes it virtually indistinguishable from a traditional, permanent building.
“Elliott provided us with quick, cost effective and modern-looking accommodation for up to 600 staff,” said a spokesperson from Jaguar Land Rover. “We particularly liked the fact that the system is relocatable and very flexible, which means that it will be much easier to add further units, which we are now doing, or downsize should we decide to replace with a permanent structure in the future.”
Elliott Modular Building provides a range of standard and bespoke systems that are offered for sale or lease. The company has a wealth of experience in providing temporary accommodation to many sectors, including education, health, industry, logistics, welfare and retail. The company also works with Government, Local Authorities and MOD.
Modular buildings from Elliott can be installed with minimal disruption to the client’s operations, unlike a permanent build, which involves greater disturbance on site, additional labour costs and an extended schedule.
Elliott has over 50 years’ experience of delivering innovative building solutions and is able to help clients achieve latest Building Regulation requirements.
