Nik Sandars, Sales Director of GGF Member company Bonwyke is in his 12th week of training for his first full 26.2mile Marathon in Liverpool on 14th October 2012 to raise much needed money for The Stroke Association.
Strokes, as many will know can affect people in all walks of life and the causes are multiple from diet to stress to genetics and lifestyle and has even been related to sleep patterns. The Stroke Association is a charity that works to prevent strokes, and to support everyone touched by a stroke, fund research, and campaign for the rights of stroke survivors of all ages.
Nik already has a strong background in raising money for charity, “I have completed several 10k and half marathons this year to raise funds into research and support for the Stroke Association , something that is close to my heart after my wife Sue took a stroke in July 2010. I completed an Abseil down Twickenham in 2010 and raised over £2000 this time I am hoping to raise £2012.”

- £25 keeps the Stroke Association helpline open for an hour
- £100 can provide a life changing grant to make life easier for a stroke survivor.
A stroke affects everybody in a family, not just the survivor. The GGF and its Members will be supporting Nik to reach his £2012 target and encourage him over the finishing line on that gruelling Liverpool Marathon. He’s doing his bit, are you doing yours?
