Several innovative features installed by leading washroom manufacturer, Washroom Washroom, on a recent bespoke high specification office refurbishment have been developed in conjunction with Rolfe Judd.
The building, a prestigious office building located within a conservation area in the City of London, recently underwent an extensive refurbishment, designed by Rolfe Judd and constructed by Mitie.
The refurbishment of the building, which comprises office accommodation on the upper floors, retail on the ground floors and staff shower facilities in the basement, has transformed it to appear and perform as a new building, whilst retaining much of the original structure and vastly improving the building’s environmental performance.
Washroom, working closely in conjunction with Rolfe Judd on the detailing of the design, installed a completely new high specification washroom core on all eight floors of the building in addition to staff shower facilities in the basement. Glass was specified throughout and complemented by a colour palette of grey, black and white, to create a sophisticated finish and make an excellent first impression as well as ensuring ultimate durability.
Washroom installed bespoke glass partitions and full height glass faced cubicles from its Alto Kristalla range, complete with painted band to act as pushplate in a complementing shade of grey. Glass integrated duct panelling, which offers a practical solution as well as adding to the sleek high specification finish, was also installed in the washroom areas.
Highly durable Corian, which can be cut to any shape and joined with inconspicuous seams to produce a perfectly neat and unified appearance, was used for the vanities. In addition, stainless steel access bins were integrated into the underside of the vanities, and wall mounted mirrors were designed to include space for concealed soap dispensers and hand dryers, to achieve a smooth finish with clean unbroken lines throughout the design.
Washroom also installed unisex washrooms near to the reception area, with each cubicle incorporating both a toilet and wash basin, to maximise the available space while continuing the design theme throughout the building.
Martin Touška, Director at Rolfe Judd said: “Washrooms are integral to any building so getting the design right is crucial. We were pleased to work with Washroom on this project to develop practical detail solutions and are delighted with the overall finish achieved.”
Trevor Bowers, Managing Director at Washroom Washroom commented: “We always relish the opportunity to bring new bespoke elements into washroom designs, creating a fresh style, while also ensuring facilities remain user-friendly and practical. We were delighted to work alongside Rolfe Judd, and are thrilled that aspects from this design will be used on future projects.”
