Honeywell has announced that Honeywell Building Solutions (HBS) has secured a three-year contract to service and maintain business critical systems including fire, closed-circuit television (CCTV), intruder and disabled refuge alarms at the Raithwaite Hall Country Retreat, located near Whitby.
Originally built in the late 19th century, Raithwaite Hall is a 45-bedroom luxury hotel in Sandsend, set within 80 acres of countryside.
The former stately home, acquired by the Skelwith Group in 2009, has recently undergone a £30 million refurbishment and has been transformed into a high-quality country retreat, which offers accommodation, fine dining, country pursuits, conferencing facilities, a spa and wedding services to its guests.
“Maintaining our critical systems to a high standard and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements is vital to the comfort and safety of our guests and staff,” said Martin Jenkinson, Raithwaite Hall engineering manager.
“Honeywell’s building controls expertise, combined with its network of engineers and its commitment to continuous improvement, delivers the high levels of service and reassurance we require, leaving the Raithwaite Hall management team free to focus on delivering a high quality experience for our visitors.
The service agreement includes a planned preventive maintenance programme, regular system testing, emergency call-outs and replacement parts. A designated Honeywell engineer, supported when necessary by others from the network, ensures that all works are completed and any issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.
A Honeywell account manager maintains close contact with the hotel’s engineering manager. Outside normal working hours, Raithwaite can also contact Honeywell’s Global Customer Care Centre 24 hours a day, seven days a week via a dedicated phone line.
“Our role is the comprehensive maintenance of all business-critical systems, but it also includes working closely with Raithwaite Hall to identify and make any changes that we believe will enhance operational performance and, as a result, improve the safety and comfort of the hotel’s guests,” said John Fowler HBS account manager.
