Following the success of the 2012 edition at May Design Series, the Innovation Awards are back and bigger than ever for 2014, this time at kbb Birmingham.
In partnership with Blum, kbb Birmingham have re-vamped the Innovation Awards to make it easy for all visitors and exhibitors alike to get involved.
Each exhibitor at kbb Birmingham, which takes place at the NEC Birmingham from 2nd-5th May, will be provided with a colourful swing-tag to highlight their most innovative product, which will then be entered into the running for the awards ceremony. The tags will also make it easier than ever for visitors to recognise the most creative new products and designs.
The judges include Dave Sanders, BLUM; Darren Morgan, Designer Kitchens and Paul Rowland, CP Hart and will select their top three from the products highlighted by swing tags, and the winners will be announced during a champagne reception held on the Blum stand.
Matthew Walmsley, Retail Services Manager at Blum, commented: “Blum is proud to sponsor the Innovation Awards at KBB Birmingham 2014. As a company Blum is constantly progressing and expanding by developing innovative products for the furniture market, such as LEGRABOX, AVENTOS and TANDEMBOX antaro. Innovation is extremely important and is behind the whole Blum philosophy, intergratal to the companies’ future.”
Andrew Vaughan, kbb Birmingham’s Brand Director, is confident that 2014 will be a storming year for the Innovation Awards. Andrew commented: “We are glad to be working alongside Blum to hold what promises to be the best ever Awards. So many of our exhibitors are bringing along products that push the market forward – it’s great to be able to reward creative thinking.”
Potential nominees for the 2014 Innovation Awards include the Largo Workcentre sink by Franke - featuring a small ‘sponge box’ to hold cleaning materials and kitchen utensils, as well as a new and unique pop-up, push-button strainer basket.
Another contender could be a brand new range of back painted, non-slip tiles from Tile & Marble Collection, designed to complement or contrast with any surrounding material – even natural stone. Others in the race include a brand new range of bedroom lighting by Sensio - powered by lithium-ion batteries and designed to cross over into kitchen lighting ranges, the collection marks the first time Sensio have ventured into the bedroom lighting market.
Registration for kbb Birmingham is now open.
