Kensa has a 100% Fast Track record

Five social housing providers in the UK will be able to embark on a programme of renewable heating works in their housing stock thanks to successful joint bids with ground source heat pump manufacturer, Kensa Engineering, for government Renewable Heat Premium Payment (RHPP) funding.

The RHPP Fast Track funding secured by the five social housing providers benefitting from Kensa’s support equates to over £2m of a total £7m funding pot.

Kensa continues to work in collaboration with a number of social housing providers in order to secure additional funding through the second RHPP ‘Reach Out’ Social Housing Competition, which offers less demanding timescales but with a funding cap per project, limiting the total funding available per project to £175,000. The deadline for the Reach Out Competition is the 27th September, with the winners announced on the 14th October.

The funding available under both RHPP Social Housing Competitions is limited to social housing providers for retrofit renewable heating technologies in their housing stock.

Intended for pipeline projects ready to go, the Fast Track competition has attracted over 50 applications in total, seven of which are for ground source heat pump projects; Kensa Engineering was successful for all five of the five ground source heat pump projects it submitted.

Each bid was awarded funding based on its score against key criteria including value for money, energy savings, deliverability, and community engagement.

Shropshire Rural Housing Ltd, Devon & Cornwall Housing Ltd, Ocean Housing, Tarka Housing, and Yorkshire Housing Ltd are the successful social housing providers to submit a winning bid to the RHPP Fast Track competition with Kensa’s support. In order for the funding to be obtained, the retrofit ground source heat pump installations will be completed by the March 31 2014.
