Ceiling systems from Knauf AMF Ceilings are part of an ambitious programme of new David Lloyd Leisure Centres opening in the UK.
Over 1200sqm of Knauf AMF Thermatex Fine Stratos ceiling tiles have been installed in the changing rooms and main café of the recently opened David Lloyd Leisure Centre in Worcester.
Paul Durber, Director, Davroy Contracts Ltd fitted the tiles and is impressed with the quality and value as he explained: “We’ve installed Knauf AMF Fine Stratos before and were extremely pleased with the tiles. They are well made, strong and produce a very attractive finished look.”
The changing rooms and café are busy areas and the ceilings had to be durable and easy to maintain. Thermatex Fine Stratos tiles are made from high density bio-soluble mineral wool which provides 95% RH humidity resistance, making them a perfect fit for areas such as changing rooms and bathrooms.
Knauf AMF tile surfaces can be treated easily with a hygienic coating, which is resistant to bacteria and fungi growth – offering a high level of hygiene and cleanliness – an essential requirement for areas where food is prepared and served.
Knauf AMF ceilings are simple to install. Thermatex Fine Stratos tiles can be fitted into either an exposed Ventatec or DONN grid system. Thermatex Fine Stratos tiles are available in various edge details for concealed design options. With either grid, the tiles are easy to remove and reinstate when access is required to the services above the ceiling.
Thermatex Fine Stratos ceiling system offer a unique combination of outstanding fire resistance and acoustic performance. The tiles have a high quality finish with a sand textured white coloured surface which provides over 88% light reflectance.
The new David Lloyd Leisure Centre boasts an extensive range of facilities including a state of the art gym, swimming pool and courts for racquet sports.
