Knauf Insulation was ready for the Construction Products Regulation (CPR), which came fully into force on July 1 2013, replacing the current Construction Products Directive.
The CPR is valid within the European Economic Area (EEA). The regulation means that from July 1, it is now mandatory for manufacturers to draw up a Declaration of Performance (DoP) and apply CE marking to any construction products covered by a harmonized European Standard (hEN) or which conform to a European Technical Assessment (ETA).
Knauf Insulation has launched an online database to give all customers in the European Economic Area access to the Declaration of Performance for its products. The database gives access to the DoP and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for the manufacturer’s insulation products.
A specific URL (web address) for each product will be displayed on the product label, packaging or invoice. Customers can then type this reference URL into their browser, which will take them directly to the appropriate DoP and SDS.
“We support the new requirement as it brings uniformity across the construction products industry,” comments Dave Khan, Technical Marketing Manager at Knauf Insulation.
“By employing a standard methodology across the industry, specifiers can have complete confidence that the products have been subjected to comparable test regimes and the product will deliver the declared level of thermal performance. Our new online database will help customers find the information they need in a straightforward and easily accessed format.”
