Leaderflush Shapland exhibits at Design in Mental Health show

Leaderflush Shapland, the UK’s leading performance timber door and doorset manufacturer, will be showcasing its anti-ligature, anti-barricade doorset solution ‘2way’ at the Design in Mental Health Conference and Exhibition on May 14-15 at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham – Stand 128.

The 2way doorset has been developed in conjunction with Cooke Brothers, a leading UK manufacturer specialising in high performance architectural hinges and hardware. The combined knowledge, experience and product development expertise together with Leaderflush Shapland’s in-depth understanding of the complex needs of mental health and psychiatric environments has resulted in an effective, non-institutional solution.

The 2way anti-ligature, anti-barricade doorset not only addresses the complex needs of the mental health and psychiatric environments and risk of patient self harm, but also provides an extremely high level of privacy and dignity.

The 2way doorset is a unique 'Frame-within-a-Frame' concept, with an inner steel frame hinged off a fixed hardwood outer frame, using a continuous inter-leaf hinge. 2way is suitable for both fire rated and heavily used applications and offers specifiers, clinicians and professionals working within mental health a non-institutional solution.

Richard Moss, Marketing Manager at Leaderflush Shapland comments: “The Design in Mental Health Conference and Exhibition is a great opportunity for us to present our newly developed anti-ligature, anti-barricade doorset solution, designed specifically to meet the complex needs of the mental health and psychiatric environments.

“Visitors to our stand will discover the innovative solutions we have to offer, learn about the necessary Building Regulations that need to be adhered to, and the extra performance characteristics that can be applied to the doorsets, including fire ratings of up to FD60S.”

The Design in Mental Health Conference and Exhibition is a unique chance for professionals involved in creating, maintaining and delivering the new generation of mental healthcare facilities to present ideas, insights and the latest product designs.
