Legrand power distribution division for BAE

Legrand has demonstrated the scope of its power distribution division by delivering market leading Electrak and Zucchini solutions for a new BAE production facility in Washington, Tyne & Wear.

Specified by NG Bailey, Legrand supplied its Electrak buscom and Zucchini MR busbar systems.  In addition, its Zucchini EdM medium voltage cast resin transformer was specified by utilities contractor, PN Daly.

Paul Hoy, a project engineer at NG Bailey, said: “In the past we have dealt with Zucchini and Electrak separately and have always been pleased with the product quality and service levels they offered. Therefore, having them under one roof, and being able to deal with just one contact for all power distribution solutions is a big help in terms of specification, product delivery and installation.”

It features a large selection of tap-off boxes that allow the supply and protection of a wide range of loads using different devices such as fuses, MCBs and MCCBs; is quick to install and easy to upgrade should existing installations need to be modified; and its vast choice of elbows, tees and other accessories make any configuration possible, including bespoke solutions if required.

The company’s Electrak buscom enables power and control communications for lighting to be carried in one single product. This innovative solution incorporates all the benefits of a lighting busbar – rapid installation, minimised terminations, modular assembly, simple parts list, off site testing etc – but applies those flexible features not just to power but also to the lighting control bus.

Meanwhile, the Zucchini EdM range of cast resin transformers deliver energy efficient solutions for every need, with bespoke solutions available up to 17,000kVA.
