MiTek Industries Ltd, a Berkshire Hathaway company and the world’s leading supplier of connector products, software, equipment and services for the pre-fabricated roof truss and metal web joist market, has announced the UK and Irish launch of its new roof design software Pamir.
Speaking at the product launch in Provence, David Fraser, Managing Director of MiTek UK & Ireland, said: “The launch of Pamir is the most significant software development to have taken place in our industry during the last 20 years and we believe that it will set our customers even further ahead in today’s competitive market place.

The result is software that delivers the modern truss manufacturer quicker estimating capabilities, quicker roof editing tools and a more integrated software environment. We are extremely proud of the product and of the team that has brought it to market and we are relishing the challenge of rolling Pamir out over the coming months.”
Pamir will deliver significant benefits to the trussed rafter supply chain. Firstly it enables the truss manufacturer to email the completed roof design in a special Pamir Viewer file with a link to the free Pamir Viewer software.
The viewer software enables the recipient to check dimensions in both the Layout and the Frame Views, as well as to view bookmarked views in the 3D view to enable quick and easy communication regarding more complex areas of the roof design. Secondly, when it comes to projects where Building Information Modelling (BIM) is being used, Pamir delivers the file formats that you need. IFC files can be easily sent and viewed on site on smartphones and tablet devices, further improving the communication levels that are possible between the roof designer and the operatives on site.
Trussed rafter manufacturers in the UK and Ireland using the MiTek system will begin the process of migrating onto Pamir starting from June 2014 onwards.
