Mumford & Wood is CE compliant

Timber windows and doors manufactured in the UK by specialists Mumford & Wood are now CE Mark compliant in accordance with mandatory European law adopted by all member states, including the UK.

The company has undertaken a rigorous process to ensure products and the supply chain are covered by the new regulations.

As with many construction products that additionally require a Declaration of Performance (DoP), specifiers can now easily determine if a product that is permanently incorporated into a building or installation complies with the Construction Products Regulation (CPR).

Mumford & Wood manufacture windows and doors that comply with the British Woodworking Federation’s (BWF) third party Timber Windows Accreditation Scheme (TWAS).  They are classified ‘A+’ under the BRE Global 2008 Green Guide to Specification and so achieve essential materials’ credits for the building. A recent Expected Service Life study commissioned by the Wood Window Alliance (WWA), of which the company is a founder member, is affiliated to the BWF and identifies timber frames made by Mumford & Wood to WWA standards have an expected service life of between 56 – 65 years, a duration double that of uPVC.

As a member of the WWA, Mumford & Wood is required to mark all products with the recognised WWA label which also carries the TWA Scheme, British Standards Institute (BSI) Kitemark and ‘Made in Britain’ badges identifying the top quality pedigree of this premier brand.  This label now incorporates the company’s CE Mark and DoP unique references.

“The Mumford & Wood brand is well regarded for providing ultimate quality and performance with design aesthetics that are second to none,” says Simon Howard, managing director, Mumford & Wood, “our windows, doors and coordinating garden rooms are beautiful to see, smooth to operate and a pleasure to live with.

"We source our top grade timber from sustainable sources where it is converted into specially designed, engineered components in Northern Europe, so leaving the waste at the forest source where is it recycled.

"We couple the skills of craftsmen (and women) with modern, state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities to create award-winning products in our Conservation and Contemporary collections.  We underwrite these strong messages with market-leading warranties that guarantee quality and longevity.”

Timber windows and doors by Mumford & Wood are Energy Saving Trust recommended and many products in the range carry the Secured by Design accreditation. Their high technical performance, thermal efficiency and acoustic qualities ensure they are ideal for heritage conservation refurbishment and renovation, as well as premium new build projects.

Mumford & Wood is the leading brand in the Performance Window Group (PWG) alongside those of Timber Windows, Dale, Clearwood and The English Glasshouse.
