A new nature reserve and Wood Awards winner in 2011 will play host to TRADA Technology’s 2013 first 'mobile' ‘Timber Frame Construction’ training course.
An inspiring timber building, Brockholes Visitor and Education Centre, near Preston, is set on a floating island on a lake.
The centre, which will host the course on Wednesday April 24th, is made of single storey timber frame and oak clad buildings that range in scale from large bustling public areas to quieter, small scale more reflective areas for learning.
Delivered by members of the TRADA Technology frameCHECK team, who regularly attend sites to provide best practice advice, or assist in solving problems, the course is written to complement TRADA Technology’s fifth edition ‘Timber Frame Construction’ book.
The training course aims to provide a better overall understanding of timber frame during design, the construction phase and in use. Course content covers many aspects including: Building Regulations; thermal bridging; air tightness; fire safety; acoustic performance; and cladding.
The cost per person including the Timber Frame Construction Book is £219 + VAT for TRADA members (£189 without the book) and £269 + VAT for non-members (£229 without the book).
