Knauf Insulation has renamed its Earthwool Universal Slab as Earthwool Building Slab, to provide a more accurate description of the products’ application.
The move aims to simplify the product range for specifiers, contractors and merchants, by more closely aligning the product with its intended use.
In this instance, Earthwool Building Slab is designed for use in the building envelope in both residential and non-residential projects.
Available in a range of densities up to 140kg/m3, Earthwool Building Slab is a semi-rigid to rigid rock mineral wool slab with excellent acoustic, thermal and fire properties. As a multi-purpose product it is suitable for use in a wide range of applications, including partitions, flooring and pitched roofs.
As well as offering superior thermal performance, Earthwool Building Slab delivers excellent acoustic performance and fire protection, achieving the unbeatable A1 fire classification. In addition, Earthwool Building Slab is manufactured using Knauf Insulation’s revolutionary formaldehyde-free ECOSE® Technology, which delivers unprecedented levels of sustainability and usability.
Phil Rigby, Product Manager – Rock Mineral Wool at Knauf Insulation, commented: “Our aim with the rebranding was to make it really clear about what application the products are for, so that specifiers and contractors can be sure they are selecting the correct product for the job.
"The Earthwool Building Slab is the first in a series of products that we will be introducing as part of this rebrand – we will also be launching a range of specialist products later in the year for applications such as heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, industrial and fabrication.”
