P4 Limited, the UK’s leading self testing emergency lighting company, has become the first independent solely dedicated emergency lighting manufacturer to gain certification under the BAFE SP203-4 scheme.
The scheme was launched in 2011 by BAFE (British Approvals for Fire Equipment) to provide independent third-party confirmation that a supplier is competent to provide services such as design, commissioning and maintenance of an emergency lighting system.
To satisfy BAFE’s requirements for SP203-4 emergency lighting certification, Fakenham based P4 had to undergo a detailed and thorough assessment of the effectiveness of its quality management system and the competence of its technical staff.
At a special ceremony at P4’s headquarters in Norfolk, Peter Warner, founder of P4 in 1989, and now the company’s CEO, said: "Compliance and total peace of mind for our loyal customer base has always been a bedrock of our business, and this latest achievement secures our position as a truly world class provider of emergency lighting solutions.
“I must congratulate our Technical Director, Alan Daniels, and his team for all the hard work and application that has gone into this process and in making this another important key milestone for the company.”
P4 also took the opportunity, in the presence of guest of honour, Keith Simpson MP, Member of Parliament for Broadland , and guests from the lighting and emergency services sectors, to showcase the new revolutionary FASTEL wireless self testing fully addressable emergency lighting system, the market leading M-web+ emergency lighting system, a range of very stylish exit signage, a new suite of literature and recently appointed senior sales executives.
Keith Simpson MP commented: “I am delighted to observe that despite the challenging economic climate, P4 continues to expand its operations, designing and manufacturing new products as well as creating employment opportunities for the local economy and beyond. You are truly an excellent ambassador for the Broadland constituency, for Norfolk as a whole and for UK business in general, and I congratulate you.”
