Global electronics company, Philips is to support Scottish business charity the Hospitality Industry Trust (HIT) Scotland. Philip’s lighting sector will be involved with HIT Scotland through a three year deal as corporate sponsors.
In return for a donation to the charity’s scholarship fund, Philips will have a presence at HIT Scotland events throughout the year and will be promoted on marketing activities by the charity.
Philips has been supplying the hospitality industry for over 100 years. As well audio and visual equipment, the company provides energy saving solutions to help improve the experience of guests through lighting. The support of Philips will help pay for the charity’s emerging talent scholarships. This programme places potential leaders already working in the industry on world class leaning experiences at home and abroad and enrols scholars on internationally renowned training programmes.
Caroline Easton, Hospitality Segment Manager Philips Lighting said, “We are looking forward to working with HIT Scotland. We share their ambition to raise aspirations and improve hospitality across the industry.”
David Cochrane, Chief Executive of HIT Scotland said, “We encourage scholars to always look at ways of innovating and being one step ahead of the rest. Lighting is in an important part of the customer experience and I am sure our scholars and supporters will have much to gain through our partnership with Phillips.”
