Quinn and Merriott Radiators are the first radiator manufacturer to have their entire ranges available on the BIMStore, for both sides of the business.
Launching its full line of 3D BIM models and data at the end of June, Quinn and Merriott have met the government target of providing fully functioning BIM models for integration into proposals two years ahead of its 2016 deadline. This means that specifiers will now have access to all models to create a complete installation plan before an order is placed.
By providing such details on its range ahead of schedule, Quinn and Merriott have allowed specifiers to compile cost estimates for its heating products, resulting in a more efficient decision making process.
BIM was introduced and made a guideline as part of the government’s scheme to make coordinated, consistent and computable information readily available to specifiers when working on building projects. From January 2016, all buildings submitted for planning will need to have a fully functioning BIM model.
Julie Maguire, BIM coordinator for Quinn and Merriott Radiators, said: “BIMStore is a very impressive, user-friendly website and we are delighted to be up and running before the required 2016 date. Quinn and Merriott are the only radiator manufacturer to have its full range on the website, maintaining its position as the market leader.
“We have ensured that all of the accompanying information is up-to-date, including warranties and sizes, and it’s this level of detail that demonstrates why Quinn and Merriott are the best choice for heating solutions.
“At Quinn and Merriott, not only can specifiers have access to the comprehensive list of models, they can also contact me for any further information that they may require. Having worked in Quinn and Merriott’s Design and Technical Department for over six years, I have the expertise to address any queries that specifiers may have, showing that Quinn and Merriott is the perfect choice.”
The introduction of BIM is expected to save thousands of pounds for specifiers with the use of its clash detection tool. This device identifies potential clashes in the design phase, meaning that building projects will almost always avoid construction issues before orders are placed. By digitalising these reports it will save time for specifiers, who previously overlaid drawings manually to see visible clashes.
