Manchester’s most fashionable cocktail bar – Cloud 23 in the Hilton Hotel - has just undergone a complete refurbishment by Manchester retail and leisure fit-out specialists, Diamond Projects.
During an intensive six week period, Diamond Projects was responsible for the complete refit of the bar’s four Cloud zones named after the Gods of Ancient Greece – Zeus 23, Apollo 23, Eros 23 and Iris 23.
Diamond carried out all aspects of the refurbishment programme working with its team of in-house carpenters and electricians; the project also included the installation of intricate ceiling art to represent ‘cotton clouds’ and the creation of soft furnishings for the bar.
Sean Fitzpatrick said: “Cloud 23 is undoubtedly one of Manchester’s most fashionable destinations and it’s great to be involved in such a high profile project – we were also up against some pretty stiff competition to get the contract so we were delighted to be given the opportunity to work on it.”
“Increasingly, we are focusing on the retail and leisure industry and having the right team and skill set in-house allows us to tender for contracts such as Cloud 23. Diamond Projects is also one of the few remaining fit-out companies with in-house manufacturing capabilities, placing us in a strong position and allowing us to promote the fact that our schemes are truly ‘Made in Manchester’ – something we’re very proud of.”
John McLaughlin, General Manager at Hilton Deansgate Manchester said: “The transformation of Cloud 23 into the most stylish destination bar in the north west of England is now complete and it is even more spectacular than we could ever have imagined. The ultimate attention to detail has been applied to every aspect of the project and the results are outstanding.”
This latest project comes on the back of strong business growth for Diamond Projects as the company approaches its 20th anniversary in business. Set up in 1993 by Sean Fitzpatrick to predominantly provide fit-outs for the retail and betting sector, in recent years the business has diversified and has significantly increased activity across hospitality, service and leisure industries.
The last 18 months has seen Diamond Projects complete a range of contracts including; a major refurbishment for the flagship store of Cheshire jewellers, Mark Worthington (MW2); the installation of a bistro in Manchester University’s Grade II Listed library; two restaurant schemes for Benihana in London’s Piccadilly and on the Kings Road in Chelsea; the fit-out and design of the head office of International freight forwarding company and award winning, Cardinal Maritime in Sharston.”
