A recent survey targeting architects by The Renewable Design Company has identified that they are increasingly looking for specialist renewable design engineers for the complicated installations involving a combination of technologies.
Increasingly the renewable energy industry is let down when systems are installed with inadequate design. There is a vast array of renewable technologies on the market and navigating through the options is not straightforward.
Clients need to understand how they can work together to provide maximum benefit. Once the optimum combination is established the key to success is the system design.
Mark Witzenberger, Technical Director at The Renewable Design Company is a highly experienced and qualified engineer, he commented: “I trained as an Engineer for 6 years at University in Germany and have worked in the industry for 10 years.
"During this time I have designed and directed the installation of some of the most significant and ground breaking systems in the UK. In a number of cases recently, RDCo has been called in to redesign a system, which has been under performing. Nine times out of ten this is due to inadequate analysis at the design phase. So not only does the system not supply the required heating, cooling or hot water but the client also fails to make the projected savings on energy bills or maximize the paybacks from the Renewable Heat Incentive.”
In the same way you would make sure that your builder has adequate experience to build your house so you should make sure your heating engineer or plumber has adequate qualifications to install renewables. Failure to do this can be a time consuming and costly error.
The Renewable Design Company offers a full design and installation service for heat pumps, solar and biomass renewable heating systems. The primary objective is to provide an unbiased opinion regarding technology type and manufacturer. The management team comprises some of the most experienced and knowledgeable people in the UK renewable energy industry.
Julian Sowerbutts, Managing Director commented, “At The Renewable Design Company we offer a free consultation and quotation. Unlike heating engineers and plumbers we specialize in renewables. This means not only is our expertise second to none but we are rarely beaten on price.
"Crucially we are also well versed on the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and can outline in plain English the savings and repayments a client can expect from the RHI. There has never been a better time for commercial properties to switch. The payments are very generous and guaranteed for 20 years. If you own commercial premises it makes absolute sense to include a renewable technology and take advantage of being paid to heat your premises.
"If you are a landlord you can retain the RHI payments, whilst your tenants benefit from the reduction in their bills, it’s a win-win situation.”
