Leading supplier Securikey has launched the new Key Safe 80 high security key cabinet, which joins its comprehensive portfolio of physical security products.
Combining tried and tested reliability with brand new features, the Key Safe 80 not only provides a robust facility where keys can be safely stored and managed, the innovative design also incorporates a solution that offers effective key tracking capabilities – a vital function for applications in which a large volume of keys are being used over a period of time.
In addition to 81 key hooks, the Key Safe 80 also features 15 closed loop hooks, located on the rear of the door, and is supplied with 20pcs tamper resistant seals that are used to fasten selected keys to the closed loops, ensuring they cannot be removed without detection. This simple yet innovative advancement enables the customer to isolate up to 15 individual keys that may need to be easily accessible in an emergency but that must be monitored to ensure they are not removed and replaced without authorisation, allowing for complete accountability.
Effective management for the majority of keys is made easy with the inclusion of an index card, key tabs, rings and numbers.
As with Securikey’s other high security key control systems, the Key Safe 80 is tested to the highest standards to enable reliable safeguarding against lost or stolen keys.
A 3mm steel body and 6mm slab door, mounted on concealed hinges, offer impressive resistance to attack, whilst meeting another practical need in the form of a powder coating for easy cleaning in a sterile environment.
A Securikey EDL77 electronic lock, operating twin locking bolts, is fitted to the Key Safe 80 as standard. With proven reliability over 15 years in the field, the EDL77 lock offers a 4-14 digit code length, the facility for 2 user codes, an anti-tamper lockout feature and low battery warning indication.
It also includes emergency override codes so that the customer can still gain access to the key safe, even in the event of an out-of-hours requirement, which is essential in applications such as hospitals and care homes. This lock has also been designed with the installer in mind and is extremely straightforward to programme, making installation quick and easy. For ease of reference, the instructions can be downloaded from the company's website, where a number of informative installation videos are also accessible.
