Senior Architectural Systems supplied aluminium curtain walling to the recently opened Langtree Park Stadium, home to St Helens RFC, better known locally as the ‘Saints’. The newly completed £25 million stadium has a capacity of 18,000 and replaces the derelict former United Glass site near the city centre.
The SMR900 aluminium curtain wall system is a medium rise, ‘stick’ based design that achieves a high weather resistance and incorporates both opening windows from the SPW window range and high security commercial doors from the SD range. High performance 36 mm double glazed units incorporating Pilkington’s 66/33 Suncool high performance solar control glass completes the installation.
Langtree Park was named after the primary developers, the Langtree Group, who gained the naming rights for the new Stadium. The old St Helens RLFC site off Knowsley Road is being redeveloped to provide high quality residential housing.
