Perth-based Sidey – one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and installers of energy efficient windows and doors – has been named in Telegraph 1000: Britain's Brightest Businesses. Published in The Sunday Telegraph, the survey picks out “the 1,000 mid-sized companies which have weathered the economic storm and are set to be the foundation of the UK's recovery”. Steve Hardy, Sidey’s Commercial Sales Director, says the report supports the company’s belief in quality and innovation. “Quality counts – whether that’s the service you provide or the products you supply. And that’s even more true in a recession,” he says. The report focuses on companies and partnerships with sales of between £5m and £500m to provide a snapshot of companies that collectively generate more than £50bn in sales that have operations across the UK and that have all weathered the recession and fitful recovery. The research was compiled with the help of NESTA, the innovation agency, which identified fast growing companies, and verified by business information specialist Dun & Bradstreet (D&B). Sidey is one of a number of construction firms have prospered despite the perception that the whole sector has been hit hard. The company recently created 50 new vacancies within its manufacturing and installation operations – a rise of 25%. The new full-time roles – 33 in installation and 17 in manufacturing – brought the total headcount from 215 to 265. Ends.
