SIG UK launches free branchfinder app

SIG UK has developed a new mobile app enabling construction professionals on any site in the UK to quickly and easily locate the nearest branch of the construction supplies firm, based on the type of products they need.

The app – named ‘1st Contact’ – invites users to select what stage of build their project is currently at. Based on that information and the user’s location, the app will identify all SIG UK branches relevant to their needs within a two to 100 mile radius of the device, providing interactive contact details for those branches.

The app is also integrated with Google maps, meaning users can instantly plot their journey to the branch. When a job is complete, the app can be used to provide a review of the SIG branch and the quality of the service received.

Mark Tomlin, UK Group Sales & Marketing Director at SIG plc, says that the app has been designed to make SIG’s products and services even more accessible to its customers: “As a business, we are committed to helping construction professionals anywhere in the country source the materials they need for their projects, as quickly and cost-effectively as possible, and with minimum hassle.

“The 1st Contact mobile app serves as a digital stepping stone between SIG and its customers, making it easier than ever for contractors, sub-contractors and developers to get in touch with us,” he continues. “Along with future bolt-ons to the app that are currently in the pipeline, 1st Contact is sure to be an invaluable tool for our customers.”

Compatible with iPhones, iPads and Android devices, the ‘1st Contact’ app is now available and can be accessed on one of these mobile devices directly at http://1stcontact.sigplc.mobi/ or via the UK homepage.
