Red Dot multi-award winning company Solarlux will showcase its SL 60 and SL 97 bi-folding doors systems alongside the SL 25 and SL 25XXL balcony glazing on stand N511 at this year’s Ecobuild on 4-6 March 2014 at the ExCel London.
The SL 97 bi-folding door has the lowest U-value on the UK market. Technically superior, triple glazed and constructed from timber and aluminium, the SL 97 is the premium energy efficient option.
The SL 97 provides optimal thermal insulation thanks to its laminated wood profiles 96mm deep and an additional insulation layer. Surpassing current building regulations the bi-folding doors achieve the Passive House Standard with a U value of just 0.80W/m2K for the complete system.
The SL 60 bi-folding door offers a huge range of configuration options with foam filled aluminium profiles means the door boasts U-values of up to 1.1W/m2K.
Martijn Venema, Managing Sales Director at Solarlux, explains: ”Our truly innovative approach means we are fully equipped to tailor designs to our clients’ requirements and incorporate their energy specifications, whilst maintaining a unique sense of style. We are not aware of any other company that can offer bi-folding glass doors that achieve the same Passive House Standards as Solarlux.
“We offer the ultimate in contemporary architectural and energy efficient design. Our versatile SL 25 balcony glazing range has been used in a variety of commercial and private projects.
“Our premium, energy efficient products helped City Peninsula win two accolades - highly commended in the ‘Best Design for Four Storeys or More’ category at the Housebuilder Awards, and bronze for ’Best Brownfield Development’ at the What House? Awards. We installed all 229 luxury apartments with a balcony terrace or winter garden combination, using our SL 25 balcony glazing range.
“All Solarlux glazing products are rigorously tested throughout the manufacturing process. Glass panels for the SL 25 are vacuum and pressure tested +/- 1,000 Pa and pendulum impact tested with a 45kg penetrator, which impacts the glazing from a deflection angle of 30 degrees and with a radius of 1.2 metres. Resistant to the British weather, the 8mm fortified glass can not only withstand high wind pressures, but reduce noise by 17dB.
“Over the other side of the pond, the SL 25 XXL system was installed in one of the world’s top baseball arenas the Yankee Stadium, New York, beating quotes from some of the top stadium architects. With no vertical panel profiles, fans gained unobstructed views of the action on the field.”
