The UK’s carbon reduction targets and the recent extension of the Renewable Heating Incentive (RHI) to include domestic properties have underlined the benefits of heat pumps, and are also both embraced by the announcement of a new collaboration between Timóleon and one of Europe’s best known ground and air source specialists.
The manufacturer of the Hydronik range of underfloor systems has become the sole UK distributor for Alpha-InnoTec: referred to as “Die Warmpumpen-Spezialisten” - or the “The Heat-pump Specialist.”
Importantly, underfloor heating loops are accepted as enabling heat pumps to deliver their optimum performance due to lower return flow temperatures, which also allow users to receive the best returns in terms of RHI payments.
This latest launch means that Timóleon is able to deliver a full selection of renewable technologies under what the company terms its Total Indoor Environment package. The philosophy being to integrate the best available technologies in a fully complimentary manner.
The Alpha-InnoTec heat pumps will therefore be promoted and installed alongside solar thermal systems – including collectors and storage cylinders – whole house ventilation systems and heat recovery systems; making Timóleon a one-stop shop for heating and hot water excellence.
The LWD 70A/SX is a top performing air source heat pump offering an independently verified COP of 4.35, and which will attract an RHI payment of 7.3 pence per kW hour.
Significantly, it will produce hot water at temperatures of up to 700 centigrade, making it suitable as a direct replacement for conventional gas boilers.
Qualifying for the higher 18.8 pence per kW hour rate of payment, the SWC 120S and SWC 140S ground source heat pumps incorporate components such as the brine expansion tank, circulator and safety devices, while manifolds and ground arrays are also available.
Both the air and ground source models are MCS approved and demonstrate simplicity of installation with accessible components and easy to commission controls. In addition to installing these models in a cascade arrangement, Alpha-InnoTec also manufactures air source units delivering outputs over 30 kW and ground source models of 160 kW, which can again be combined to meet the highest demands in locations such as schools and hospitals.
The heat pumps further benefit from the AlphaWeb remote access technology which both enables customers to control their systems from anywhere in the world, and facilitates Alpha-InnoTec’s unique “Monitor and Maintain” service offering. This encompasses the Gold standard cover for the first year: with all parts and labour as well as a 12 month service and emergency call outs. This can be extended or followed by the Silver standard that still covers any parts required, while the Bronze level continues for the full five years of the product warranty period.
Timóleon and Alpha-InnoTec can assist clients having any type of property or project to achieve the ideal alternative heating and hot water package, attracting RHI payments for up to 20 years and drastically cutting carbon emissions.
