The Travis Perkins Group has moved into the energy and environmental consultancy market with the signing of a major new contract with City West Housing Trust. As part of the TP Group, Sustainable Building Solutions (SBS) and its partner Compliance, have been appointed by City West Housing Trust to provide energy and environmental consultancy services on their new Amblecotes development.
City West Housing Trust who own and manage 15,000 homes in West Salford is embarking on an exciting development programme. Plans are well underway for the construction of 50 new dwellings at Amblecotes; they are to be built to the highest environmental and energy efficiency standards and Compliance will be undertaking the SAP energy calculations and the Code for Sustainable Homes Assessment.
Compliance, through its partnership with SBS, has promoted the use of the recently introduced SBS Standard Construction Details. These details enable significantly improved SAP energy and fabric efficiency ratings which facilitate the level 3 Code for Sustainable Homes standard being achieved at significantly reduced cost.
Paul Joyner, Director of SBS, said: “The Travis Perkins Group is changing the game in the sustainably sector, providing fully integrated solutions for our customers that encompass technical services, training and even fully thermally-modelled architectural drawings for both retrofit and new-build. We have developed a strong relationship with the City West Housing Trust and are really pleased to be providing these new SAP Testing and Code Assessment services.”
Eimear Montague, Sustainable Development Manager, said: “The requirements and regulations to build efficiently and sustainably are changing and it can be difficult to work out what you need to do to comply. By introducing a wide range of energy efficiency and environmental assessment services, through its partnership with Compliance, SBS is supporting it’s customers in this changing area.”
Garry Vaughan of City West Housing Trust said: “We have an excellent relationship with the Travis Perkins Group and their involvement with the assessments of our exciting Amblecoats development should prove extremely beneficial in helping us achieve our very specific objectives.”
Tom Garnett, Director of Compliance, said: “Building sustainable new homes cost-effectively within legislation can be a difficult and complicated business. We aim to help make the process as smooth as possible and to advise on minimising costs.”
Compliance is delighted to partner SBS by providing an integrated approach to building control and environmental compliance. For further information call 0845 680 9882 or visit www.sustainablebuildingsolutions.co.uk
