Ultra Floor’s Level IT SUPER30 rapid setting and drying smoothing underlayment has been used to refurbish the home of one of Europe’s largest collection of sharks!
Blue Planet Aquarium in Cheshire Oaks has undergone refurbishment to its reception and walk through areas by Manchester based flooring contractor Branagan Flooring Services.
The work was carried out in a tight time frame during the aquarium’s closing hours, to avoid disruption to trade. It was completed in three phases over a six day period and included 800m² of subfloor preparation and Polyflor XL PU vinyl installation using Ultra Floor’s Prime IT AR and Level IT SUPER30.
Existing floor covering and adhesive residue was removed before Prime IT AR was applied to the concrete substrate. Prime IT AR is a water-based acrylic primer suitable for absorbent subfloors and as a barrier primer, prior to applying a smoothing underlayment. It helps stop the moisture from the wet underlayment passing through to the porous subfloor which can cause pinholes, prolonging the life of the installation. It was used to prepare the area prior to levelling with Level IT SUPER30.
Level IT SUPER30 is Ultra Floor’s market leading ‘level and lay in a day’ formulation which sets to walk on in 30 minutes whilst allowing impervious floor coverings to be laid after just 3 hours - perfect for this project’s time constraints! Once smoothed and cured it was ready to receive the bonded Polyflor XL PU vinyl.
