Manchester based, strategic marketing agency Wodehouse Direct, has been awarded the contract to rebrand totally, Knutsford based, Mere Golf & Country Club into The Mere, Cheshire’s first 5 Star Golf Resort and Spa.
After successfully winning a multi-way pitch, current incumbent Wodehouse Direct has further brought the resorts’ marketing to life with enthusiasm and passion – which has been reflected in the whole rebranding exercise from marketing collateral, advertising, point of sale, e-commerce and branding. This new identity will also be reflected on their new website planned for early 2011. The project, which will be carried out in two phases, will see the conversion and extension of an existing stable block to form a new five star-spa and leisure facility which officially opened in January 2011. The new Spa and Leisure Club provides state-of the-art facilities, gym equipment, a 20m luxury pool, 36 – cover restaurant & bar and also comprises of specialist treatment rooms and relaxation areas including a Haman, a Roman Caldarium, deep relaxation areas and an exotic Rasul, an Arabian mud therapy suite. The whole resort also offers an unrivalled range of beauty treatments providing the most luxurious and relaxing Spa experience for new and existing members.
The second phase comprises the construction of an impressive hotel which will provide 81 luxury bedrooms to complement the existing facilities. This phase will commence once the initial phase is complete and is schedule for completion by February 2012.
On the rebranding, owner and CEO, Mark Boler, commented: "This is an exciting phase in Mere's history and I am delighted to be working with Wodehouse Direct to create what we hope will become the North West's number one golf and leisure destination resort. Once complete the club will be re-launched as The Mere Golf Resort and Spa."
