Yeoman Shield returned to Sutton Academy, a busy school in St Helens, Merseyside which caters for 1300 children aged 11 to 18 years, to install a further phase of wall protection.
Works had been carried out previously by Yeoman Shield over a year ago which proved to be so successful in protecting the walls in corridors around the school that they were awarded further work.
“The wall protection initially supplied and installed by Yeoman Shield was in the student reception area and first floor corridors which has turned out to be such a success that we decided to roll out the wall protection to the Design & Technology plaza area and the Science corridors” explained Manager Ian Morris, Director of Network & Information Service.
Yeoman Shield HessianEx 2.5mm thick wall protection panels in a vibrant Lilac colour were fitted, by Yeoman Shield directly employed fixing operatives, to the plain plaster walls that were wide open to damage and marking caused by heavy footfall throughout the plaza.
Not only do the wall panels protect from costly and unsightly damage but they add colour, warmth and a design interest to what would otherwise be a sterile, cold looking area.

Corridors to the science areas which were susceptible to damage not just from the passing footfall but also from the movement of wheeled equipment and trolleys, also had the Yeoman Shield HessianEx in the same Lilac colour fitted on to the walls.
“Having the walls protected with Yeoman Shield will definitely reduce the amount of time and money that we spend in the future on redecoration costs showing significant savings to the maintenance budget” concluded Ian Morris.
Sutton Academy will be carrying out a full refurbishment of the dining hall during the Summer break for which they will be appointing Yeoman Shield again to supply & install the wall protection panels.
