Power management company Eaton has announced the launch of the Chevin T5 luminaires, developed for its extremely popular Chevin Plus range.
The new T5 portfolio delivers a cost-effective solution for buildings such as schools and offices requiring a surface mounted solution with excellent optical control and efficacy.
The additions maintain the benefit of louvres retained by shootbolts, offer fully integral emergency conversions and have the option of optical panel technology – all features traditionally found on more expensive products. The range also offers specifiers the choice of single or twin lamp housing widths with specifically engineered T5 optics.
“The Chevin T5 range brings together efficient performance, contemporary aesthetics and the latest T5 fluorescent technology,” commented Andy Gallacher, product marketing manager for mains lighting, Eaton.
“The luminaires’ slim and attractive design seamlessly integrates into a range of interior applications. Additionally, specifiers can be assured of the T5 optics’ high efficacy, which is in excess of 60 luminaire lumens per circuit watt (lm/cW), compliant with Building Regulations Part L requirements 2014.”
The new range is suitable for direct fix or suspended mounting. It is available with a high grade specular aluminium louvre or TPa rated fire retardant, prismatic panel. The panel assembly is retained on spring clips with hanging straps, leaving installation and maintenance teams with both hands free for re-lamping.
A key benefit of the Chevin T5 range is that it offers a fully integrated emergency conversion with a three-hour duration. The materials used mean the luminaires are suitable for use on defined escape routes. Intellem self-test emergency versions are also available from the range.
“The Chevin Plus range sets the balance between performance and price, providing cost-effective surface-mounted fluorescent solutions. They are compliant with the changing demands of energy efficiency and optical control requirements recommended in the lighting guides. The all new Chevin T5 continues in that tradition of cost effective performance, whilst providing dedicated optics to suit the lamps and enhanced efficiency over the previous versions of Chevin Plus that were originally designed around the T8 lamp,” added Gallacher.
The Chevin T5 luminaire’s new and enhanced technology has been achieved by careful attention to tooling design and efficient precision manufacturing at Eaton’s manufacturing facilities in Doncaster.
