Frese, the world-leading manufacturer of energy saving valves, has been awarded a major project to work on the landmark Imperial College London - Imperial West scheme.
Imperial West is a multi million pound new development, a new campus, co-locating world class researchers, businesses and entrepreneurs.
Frese are supplying energy efficient valves for two new educational research and translation buildings on the scheme, which also includes a 13 storey hotel.
Located in the heart of London, Imperial College London is behind the scheme to create an international hub for top world class researchers and businesses, a hub of an unprecedented scale in London.
Frese was commissioned by contractor Crown House Technologies to supply energy saving valves, their Flanged Optima Compact range, from sizes DN25 up to DN150. They will be used in the buildings hot water heating systems, for chilled water plate heat exchangersf and for the air handling units.
The pressure independent flow and temperature control valves, which can be fitted to any water based system, ensure precise control in the heating and cooling system. This can lead to up to a 50% saving on the energy a circulating pump consumes and a major reduction on energy bills for a building, as boilers and chillers work more efficiently.
Stephen Hart, managing director of Frese UK said: “We are very pleased to be working on such a high profile, landmark scheme. It's a major development which will utilise the very latest technology, including our new generation of independent control valves, which are the market leader for delivering energy efficiency by allowing precise control of heating and cooling systems."
Frese was founded in Denmark in 1944 and opened its UK offices in Burscough, Lancashire, in 2004. It is a world leading manufacturer of pressure independent flow and temperature control valves for precise indoor climate control of energy efficient heating and cooling systems in residential, commercial and institutional buildings.
