Since the recovery in the housing market, there has been a huge growth in demand for thin leading edge concrete tiles that replicate the look of natural slate.
Roofing manufacturer Marley is reporting that sales of its own Edgemere tile have seen unprecedented growth since 2009, with a particular surge in specifications in the last two years.
Gavin White, product manager at Marley, explains: “Since the recovery began in the UK housing market, specifiers have started to move away from standard concrete interlocking tiles and are instead opting for a premium slate look aesthetic that can be achieved very cost effectively with a tile like Edgemere.
"This means they are able to enhance external aesthetics without compromising the overall budget.”
Edgemere is a thin leading edge concrete tile with impressive environmental credentials. Quicker and easier to install than natural slate, it is available in three variants, standard, riven and duo.
