Knauf Insulation is showcasing its innovative BBA certified ThermoShell Internal Wall Insulation (IWI) and External Wall Insulation (EWI) systems at this year’s Greenbuild Expo in Manchester on stand C23, as well as presenting its HeatBleed tool to calculate how much energy visitors are losing in their homes.
Knauf Insulation is holding live demonstrations on how to install its ThermoShell IWI and EWI systems, as well as hosting a CPD event titled ‘Hybrid solutions for solid wall insulation’ which will be presented by Craig O’Donnell – Contracting and Refurbishment Manager at Knauf Insulation.
Craig commented: “We thought the exhibition would be an excellent opportunity to hold a CPD on solid wall insulation which would help educate installers and architects further and to explain the benefits of installing a hybrid solution to a property.
“We are the only manufacturer to offer a hybrid solid wall solution for buildings incorporating both ThermoShell IWI and EWI systems, and as such we can provide expert guidance to homeowners to help them specify the right mix of solid wall solutions for a property.
“What’s more, The Green Deal Home Improvement Fund (GDHIF) will open to customers in early June and take over from the current Green Deal Cashback Scheme which ends on the 30th June. It allows homeowners to claim money back from the Government on energy saving improvements. Those installing a solid wall insulation solution could receive cashback that would cover up to 75 per cent of the cost.”
Visitors will also be able to test Knauf Insulation’s innovative HeatBleed tool, which will be situated in three pods around the exhibition including the restaurant and on the stand. The HeatBleed tool will be able to tell homeowners how much energy their home is approximately losing by just entering a postcode – an excellent device to help homeowners, landlords and architects recognise the measures needed to upgrade the thermal efficiency of a building.
Furthermore, there will be lots of information available on the stand about Knauf Insulation’s Accredited Installer Scheme, which is aimed at teaching tradesmen of all disciplines to become an approved installer of both ThermoShell systems. Courses are provided at a dedicated ThermoShell Training Academy in Birmingham and consist of a thorough theoretical workshop followed by practical sessions, where the attendees put what they have learned into practice.
