Vision London has secured some of the most influential figures from the architectural and wider construction community to speak at the two day exhibition being held at Olympia on the 2 and 3 June (2015).
More than 100 key figures are to speak at the event’s seminar programme which will cover the four themes of ‘Future Materials and Systems’, ‘Technology’, ‘Innovation in Architecture and Design’, and ‘Building for Health and Wellbeing’.
Influential names include: Matthew Webster, Executive of British Land; Richard Francis, Principal at The Monomoy Company; Debra Saunt, Partner at DSDHA; Oliver Heath of Heath Design; Michael Stych and Chris Jofeh of Arup; John Roberts from Laing O’Rourke’s Engineering Excellence Group, and Stewart Dalgano, Director of Product Development at Stewart Milne.
The speaker programme will also feature leading architects Sunand Prasad PPRIBA of Penoyre and Prasad, James Pickard of Cartwright Pickard and Jim Eyre OBE of Wilkinson Eyre.
Former RIBA President, co-founder of Penoyre and Prasad, and a founding Commissioner of CABE, Sunand Prasad holds a number of key positions related to policy development and design quality, including being a member of both the Mayor’s Design Advisory Panel for London and the UK Government’s Green Construction Board. Named by the ‘Independent’ newspaper as one of the top 100 environmentalists for his work in ‘greening the RIBA’, Sunand will be speaking at Vision London’s ‘Innovative Retrofit’ seminar.
The lead architect on numerous award winning residential projects including an innovative housing scheme at Murray Grove in London for the Peabody Trust which won nine major awards, and Bourbon Lane in London for Octavia, which won RIBA and Civic Trust housing awards, James Pickard co-founded Cartwright Pickard in 1996. The only practicing architect to sit on the main board of Construction Excellence in 2005/6 and an advisor to several Governments on innovative responses to affordable housing, James will be participating in the ‘Building Performance – Air Quality’ seminar.
Jim Eyre OBE has been a Partner at Wilkinson Eyre, one of London’s leading architectural practices and the firm responsible for the redesign of Battersea Power Station, since 1987. An active member of CABE’s Design Review panel and a trustee of the Design Council, Jim has a particular interest in multi-disciplinary projects where architectural creativity and engineering principles can be combined. He will be speaking at Vision London’s ‘Materials of Invention’ seminar.
“Our seminar programme will cover a diverse range of topics relating to the creation of future built environments,” says Mike Costain of Vision. “But to ensure the very highest calibre of debate and discussion we wanted to secure the participation of some of the industry’s most authoritative figures. We are delighted to have the support of such high calibre individuals and are confident their involvement will play a key part in the delivery of a lively and thought provoking series of seminars and debates at this year’s Vision London.”
