Burrough Court business park in Leicestershire has received a new, super-efficient Herz biomass boiler from Rural Energy to provide the heating needs of its warehouse and office units and 200 business tenants, as part of a second phase biomass upgrade.
Burrough Court has been using biomass heating since 2007 with the original installation of a 150kW Herz Firematic boiler supplied by Rural Energy.
The boiler had been serviced annually by Rural Energy and was in such good condition that it is now continuing its life at Rural Energy’s Biomass Training and Skills Centre, where it is being used to train the next generation of engineers. The seven year-old boiler was spotless both inside and out and is testament to Rural Energy’s continual excellence in service and maintenance.
The new, bigger Herz Firematic 199kW boiler now installed at the site in a purpose built plant room and fuel store, is set to receive the same comprehensive service plan as the previous model to ensure its highly efficient operation for many more years to come.
Enabling Burrough Court to heat even more offices at the site, the new biomass boiler solution has been designed to maximise efficiency, keep heating bills low and achieve the best possible return from the RHI. The biomass heating system not only provides income from the RHI but also offers further cost savings through its cheaper fuel source – wood chip can be up to three times cheaper than commercial heating oil. What’s more, the new Herz Firematic range of boilers is one of the first to benefit from the new T-Control, touch screen technology that allows for easy and remote management of the boiler’s systems, reducing service disruption and expensive engineer on-site time.
Fred Wilson, landlord of Burrough Court, commented: “We’re committed to offering top quality and sustainable business premises on our site and once I spoke to Rural Energy, biomass heating was an easy choice. Having used Rural Energy before, I didn’t hesitate to get them in again to carry out the second phase.
“What’s more, the benefits of renewable energy extend beyond the RHI income and fuel saving. We’ve found that businesses who are conscious about carbon cutting and reducing their impact on the environment find premises with renewable heating systems very attractive.”
Paul Clark, Managing Director at Rural Energy, said: “We have a long standing relationship with Burrough Court and are delighted that they have come back to us for the second phase. Herz boilers are extremely reliable and the new 199kW model we installed has been designed specifically to maximise potential income and efficiency, indeed it works particularly well in large office and industrial estate settings.
“The original 150kW boiler we removed from the site was immaculate and proof that if you maintain these quality boilers properly they will continue to perform efficiently for long periods of time.”
With more than 12 years at the leading edge of biomass technology, Rural Energy is one of the UK’s most experienced biomass distributors and installers. Rural Energy offers a full turnkey service from survey and design, through to installation and on-going maintenance.
