Since the launch of its wind farm at the end of 2014, luxury vinyl flooring manufacturer, Moduleo, has saved 13.3 GWh of energy – the equivalent to the annual electricity use of more than 2,000 families.
Thanks to its wind farm, Moduleo has become almost entirely energy-independent, making it one of the most environmentally-friendly flooring manufacturers in the world.
David Bigland, managing director at Moduleo UK and Eire, comments: “Greener manufacturing is at the forefront of our ethos, and thanks to our wind farm we’re now one of the most environmentally-friendly companies in Europe.
“What’s more, our products are not only kind to the environment in production but also in practise, as they don’t require any harsh chemicals to clean.”
As a global top three manufacturer selling 100 million m2 of vinyl flooring every year since 1997, Moduleo has a strong heritage. The company handles every stage of the design and manufacture process from start to finish at its state-of-the-art, eco-friendly facility in Belgium.
David continues: “Our range of design floors is now much larger and much more detailed than ever before, and as we produce such a high quantity of flooring year-on-year, it’s great to see how much energy the wind farm has saved us.”
Moduleo recently extended its Transform collection with the introduction of eight new designs in 42 colour options. What’s more, the manufacturer now offers a parquet option on all products in its Transform and Impress ranges, meaning that designers can now make their own bespoke flooring patterns.
David concludes: “It’s fantastic to see the level of energy we have saved since the launch of wind farm, and for our manufacturing processes to have such a positive impact on the environment.”
