A revolutionary development in humidity control Greenwood HumidiSMART™ uses man-made spikes to boost ventilation rather than waiting for a pre-set relative humidity point to be reached. This means Vireo adjusts itself to the ‘here and now’ and uses the ambient humidity level as its normal point. This removes the nuisance boosting often associated with humidity controlled systems that respond to naturally occurring changes in humidity, such as hot and humid days.
Greenwood HumidiSMART™ also takes it to next level, providing an improved level of performance in heat recovery whole house systems. Like others, the humidity sensor is located in the unit, and extraction points can be up to 10 metres away, as well as being connected to other extraction streams. As the air travels to the sensor, humidity may be reduced, meaning boost does not activate. However, with Greenwood HumidiSMART™, even if the humidity has reduced by the time it reaches the sensor Vireo will still register the increase from the normal point as a spike and activate the boost accordingly.
A logical approach to overrun timing in domestic ventilation systems Greenwood TimerSMART ™ eliminates nuisance noise and over-ventilation by using duration occupancy to determine the overrun period rather than a pre-set generic period – i.e. the length of time the fan is operational is proportional to the time spent within the room. This ensures a SMARTer way of controlling ventilation, whilst providing effective ventilation to adequately remove moisture and odours.
Unlike other heat recovery units Greenwood SummerSMART™ offers a true 100% summer by-pass function. As a result Vireo continues to filter the in-coming air, even when the heat recovery function is not being used, to ensure 365 days of fresh filtered air to the home. This is extremely important for allergy sufferers at a time when filtration is most critical.
Vireo’s design is all about GIP and the latest Greenwood CommissionSMART™ technology makes on-site set-up and commissioning, a key area for GIP, the ultimate experience. Thanks to a unique commissioning wizard - a simple step-by-step process, with ‘turn and press’ control button - Vireo can be set-up in just 8 steps, taking as little as 90 seconds. It is at this point that handing is also completed, through the unit’s software alone, without product dismantling.
