One year on from rebranding as the Structural Timber Association (STA), the former UKTFA has announced an impressive line-up for its AGM and Annual Conference in May.
With a host of new members since rebranding, including the entire membership of UKSIPS, the STA will focus the Conference on capitalising on the upturn in the market.
Speakers will include the UK Government Chief Construction Adviser, Peter Hansford who will give insights into the transition to a low carbon economy; and head of National Specialist Contractors’ Council Suzannah Nichol, who will speak about the role of fair payment within the sector.
Additional activity will include new forums on commercial activity within timber frame, SIPs and solid wood.
Chairman of the STA, Lawrence Young comments: “The past year has been significant for the STA and we enter the next phase of our growth and development with a strong complement of new members.
"Our membership now reflects our expansion across the full range of structural timber, with a continued focus on timber frame. The Conference line-up underpins the benefit we bring in terms of quality, technical excellence, training and commerciality. Being part of this Conference will allow delegates to understand the many reasons why STA membership gives a competitive edge.”
The STA AGM and Annual Conference will be held on Wednesday May 21 2014 at the St Pierre Hotel & Country Club in Chepstow, Wales.
